Spay Neuter - TNR Appointments

Need help with spay neuter appointments for a stray cat or colony? Need information on how you can get started on trapping a stray or injured cat or an entire colony (more than 3)? Fill out our form below and we'll get back to you in 24-48 hours.

Please note:

  1. We DO NOT  have volunteer trappers in every municipality but we can ALWAYS lend out traps and give guidance on how to trap.

  2. We do not commit to rehoming or intaking kittens. We can guide you on what to do but our primary interest is preventing kittens as there are no rescue spots immediately avaliable for them even with our partners.

  3. We WILL NOT trap and remove or relocate, cats must be returned to where they came from.

  4. If the cat you have is pregnant, we spay and abort with very few exceptions. This is not up for discussion. Cats gestation is 60-65 days so if you see a cat pregnant already chances are it's at least 3 weeks pregnant. The sooner they get in the better it is for the female recovery time (4-10 days) which we can help with. We HATE spaying heavily pregnant females so please call us early

  5. Assume any orange and black or orange/black/white cat is pregnant, if it's ear isn't tipped these are 99% females and they will breed each and every year. If you had a litter under your deck or shed or in your yard last year and the mother is still around assume she will have a litter in the same place this year, they will almost always return especially to sheds. Setting a feeding schedule between 6-8am and 6-10pm is the most secure way to trap a cat. Don't leave food out overnight if you can avoid it

  6. Our volunteers are not paid, we do not get reimbursed for any of our time or gas or equipment we buy. There are less than 5 people that help cover all of lehigh and northampton counties, in between their regular FT jobs, families, etc. Please be respectful and courteous with our volunteers and partners. We may not be able to come out to you but we will always be able to guide you. If you can feed, you can trap. It takes little more than putting a plate of food in the back of a trap and covering it with a towel. We are not a business or animal control service - we can and will decline to work with or for anyone who is found being abusive, rude or harass our partner rescues and volunteers.

  7. Finances/Cost - each cat costs a minimum of $40-55 just for vet/surgical fee, this does not include our expenses which we do not charge for so we will work with you to get assistance or fundraise we just need your patience. Please check our financial resources page or no nonsense neutering and the humane society community cats page to check if you have coverage for TNR fees paid for or reduced - if you are not one one of these lists you are not covered and must pay on your own.

Aunt Helens TNR transports - we do not run our own clinic but we do partner with everyone EXCEPT the Lehigh humane society. We transport 3-25 cats at one time to a partner clinic and we usually can get people in within 1-3 weeks.

Every month we reserve 30-40 Spay/Neuter appointments at Forgotten Cats in Willow Grove, Furr Fix it Clinic in Bangor or Forgotten Felines and Fidos in Germansville. Sometimes we are able to do No Nonsense Neutering transports but we will not do them for one cat. It must be 3 or more.

Most clinic days are Wed or Friday

For our transports drop off is the night before surgery, between 6-8pm in Northampton (address to be provided at the time of scheduling it is residential we ask trappers and pet owners be respectful of times posted). Pick up is the day of surgery between 730-830pm OR the following morning before 10am.

Please contact us via our form or text - we need to know by 9am the day BEFORE surgery  if you have the cat trapped. Otherwise we need to give that spot to another pet or tnr waitlisted person.

The cost is what the clinic charges so varies between $40-55/cat. If we have funds to subsidize we will contribute to TNR surgeries to bring them down to $20/cat. Includes Neuter/Spay, ear tup, vaccines, flea treatment, pain meds. Pet spots can also be used it's $70 for female or male cats (no ear tip, felv/fiv testing not included but may be added for $25).

TNR's must be in traps, pet cats must be in hard carriers.

If you are not using our appointments and just need transport becuase you are unable to make the clinic drop off and pickup hours for a local TNR clinic like Forgotten Felines or No Nonsense we may charge a $25 trip fee.

If you have a pregnant cat that is in urgent need of a spay and abort appointment please call us, we can usually fit 1-2 in a week early on (monday-wed). Please don't trap without an appointment, most people wait 1-4 weeks to get in.

If you need oral contraceptives because your colony (more than 3 cats) is too large to tnr in 2 weeks or less please fill out this form and text us at 484-597-4887. You must be able to feed them daily for oral contraceptives to work. The cost is usually $20- colony per month.
